Law Enforcement Requests
Your Rights. Your Protection. Your Trust.
Effective Date: January 01, 2025
360 Broadband is committed to cooperating with law enforcement and government agencies per applicable federal, state, and local laws. This page provides official guidance for submitting lawful requests for subscriber information, including subpoenas, court orders, and other legal processes.
Submitting a Legal Request
All legal requests for subscriber information must be submitted in writing and sent to [email protected]
Requests must be submitted by authorized government or law enforcement personnel from an official agency domain. Requests from public email services (such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook.com) will not be accepted or processed.
Required Information for IP-Based Requests
To ensure accurate and timely processing, each request must include the following information:
- Public IP address
- UTC timestamp (including date and time)
- Port number (if applicable)
Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT) Notice
360 Broadband uses Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT) to manage IP address allocations in many areas. If the subscriber was using a CGNAT IP address at the time of interest:
- A port number, IP address, and UTC timestamp are required.
Without the port number, we will likely be unable to identify a specific subscriber, as multiple users may share the same public IP address simultaneously. - A timestamp and IP address may be sufficient if the IP address is publicly and statically assigned to a single subscriber.
Note: Submitting multiple timestamps without a port number does not increase the likelihood of a successful match in CGNAT environments.
Preservation Requests
Law enforcement agencies may submit a request to preserve subscriber data under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(f) or applicable state law. Preservation requests should include:
- An explicit request for data preservation
- Identifying information such as IP address, timestamp, or subscriber account ID
- The preservation period (typically 90 or 180 days)
Preserved records will be maintained temporarily pending receipt of a formal legal process (e.g., subpoena, court order).
Emergency Requests
If there is an immediate threat to life or serious bodily harm and law enforcement is unable to wait for the standard legal process, emergency disclosure requests may be submitted under applicable emergency disclosure laws (such as 18 U.S.C. § 2702(b)(8) and (c)(4)).
Emergency requests must be:
- Signed by a law enforcement official
- On official agency letterhead or include a valid agency-issued identification
- Sent with “EMERGENCY REQUEST” clearly noted in the subject line
- Include specific details about the nature of the emergency and the information sought
Data Retention and Availability
360 Broadband retains customer records and network usage data per internal data retention policies and applicable law. Not all data may be available at the time of the request, depending on the nature of the information and the date of the activity in question.
Response Time
We make every effort to respond to adequately submitted legal requests in a timely manner. Requests are prioritized based on urgency and the completeness of the information provided. Incomplete or improperly submitted requests may be delayed or returned for clarification.
